Two briefing documents · September 2026
One document looks at the website that does the asking. The other looks at where $7.5 million can actually come from. They were written a day apart and are meant to be read together.
01 · Content & UX review
What zeitoun-memorial.org says today, what it fails to ask for, and what to fix first.
The story is compelling and the organization is real — the page is not yet doing the job of asking. The ask surfaces around section 8 of 13, and six of the eight gallery captions are still lorem ipsum.
02 · Grant strategy & action plan
Where the money can and cannot come from, what has to be fixed before anyone files, and a dated sequence to start on Monday.
No grant program identified will pay to construct this building. Two structural disqualifiers close every capital door found. Grants can fund the museum's interpretive work — roughly $10K–$30K a year. The rest has to be raised from individuals and parishes.
Nearest deadline · 16 Sept 2026
If you read one thing, read the box at the top of the playbook — it explains why most of the obvious funding routes are closed, and it changes what the website needs to do. The one live application deadline is the Somerset County history grant, covered in section 3.
